I'd been wondering if the Kabob Hut on Mound just south of 17 Mile had good Lebanese food ever since I saw it show up late in the fall. I finally got an opportunity to try some carry-out from there and I was not disappointed. And it is conveniently located right by my office, which of course means it's also close to home (about 3 miles away).
It was so good that I have now gotten take-out from there twice!
On both occasions, I chose the Chicken Shawarma entree which came with rice & garlic "paste" (no paste the 2nd time for some reason).
I chose the lentil soup as my other side dish the first time and fattoush salad the second.
Also, I can't get Middle Eastern food without getting hummus, so I ordered some of that as well.
The soup was only OK, but the salad was very good. And the hummus was excellent (the bread was standard pita bread, which wasn't anything too special) and had great flavor.
The Shawarma with rice was great! It was the best Shawarma I've had since the La Shish was still in business. It was flavored perfectly and was some of the best Shawarma I've ever had. And the portions were large enough for me to have leftovers the next day for dinner.
