I went to Mon Jin Lau in Troy with some friends to celebrate a good friend's birthday. Our dinner was excellent! I hadn't been there in far too long & had forgotten just how good it is. We went relatively early on a Saturday yet it was still packed and a lot of people were waiting for a table.
The food was very tasty. We started off with their Ginger Garlic Eggplant appetizer which consisted of thin sliced eggplant rolled with wood ears, pesto, pine nuts, red pepper & Vietnamese rice noodles. This is one of the best appetizers I've ever had at any restaurant! And it has fungus in it (the wood ears) & I am NOT a fungus fan! For my entree, I had Mongolian Beef with red peppers, scallions, crispy rice noodles & ginger garlic sauce and it was tasted great with a lot of flavor. I just wish it had been a little spicier (or spicy period as it really wasn't).
All in all, it was a great dining experience & I have to get back soon, especially for their sushi!
