Movie Review: "Melancholia" (2011)

I watched "Melancholia" and frankly thought it was awful & it ranks up there with some of the worst movies I've ever seen. It moves at a boring snail's pace. Not just any snail's pace, but a BORING snail's pace. That is how unexciting this movie is. I literally could not wait for this movie to end.

The movie is split into 2 parts centered around 2 sisters. The first half shows the wedding of one sister and the second half is about how the two sisters & some family wait for another planet to hit the Earth and how the sister who gets married in the first half is depressed. The wedding alone consumes well over an hour of the movie…yeah, a WEDDING. Doesn't that sound thrilling?

This movie has little to no redeeming qualities. Not even the acting is very good and there are some good actors in it (Kirsten Dunst, Keifer Sutherland, Alexander Skarsgård, Stellan Skarsgård).

I highly recommend that nobody waste their time watching this movie…1.0/10 stars
