I thought "The Iron Lady" was a good, well-made movie.
I liked it mostly because I didn't know much about Margaret Thatcher other than her obvious position as the only female British prime minister. This movie told that story well & portrayed her struggles due to being a woman.
Meryl Streep did a good job of playing "Maggie", but I do not believe her performance was worthy of her Best Actress award. I've seen her give better performances & thought that some of the other women nominated were better.
The aspect of the movie that I wasn't too fond of was how the older Thatcher was carrying on conversations with her dead husband. I didn't think it was a necessary part of the story.
I did like this movie though…6.5/10 stars
