Movie Review: "The Imitation Game" (2014)
The Imitation Game (directed by Morten Tyldum and starring Benedict Cumberbatch & Keira Knightley) is a movie about a portion of the life of Alan Turing (played by Cumberbatch) who won World War II for the Allies. That may be a bit of an exaggeration, but it's not too far from the truth as he was the main person who broke the Nazi's Enigma Code (a machine used to encrypt & decrypt secret messages). The movie focuses on the timeframe during WWII when a team of British mathematicians were trying to break the code and Turing's pivotal role in that code breaking.
This is an excellent movie which tells the story of Turing's role in the code breaking and his subsequent criminal prosecution for being a homosexual in a strong, stirring, and eventually tragic way.
I really liked this movie...8.5 stars
