Movies with 7.5 Stars

All of these movies that I've seen over the last few years get 7.5/10 stars, so I would definitely recommend giving these movies a viewing.

The last 3 movies on this list were part of a 2018 Christmastime movie marathon my brother Dennis and I had which is something we used to do all the time back in the 80s & 90s during the holiday season!

This is not Clint as Walt Kowalski (his character in Gran Torino), he's not nearly that angry in this movie and much more likable. A good movie with a good story and some unexpected twists.

The Old Man & the Gun (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2837574)

Another movie about a geriatric criminal, this time played by Robert Redford. I think this was a little better than The Mule. Redford seemed to have a lot of fun playing bank robber Forrest Tucker and always had a little twinkle in his eye.

A very fun movie with a fun performance by Judi Dench as Queen Victoria. I'm a sucker for British period pieces!

Tommy Wiseau was a seriously weird dude and James Franco did a great job of playing him in this movie. I was very entertained by this movie and especially Franco's performance.

Ready Player One

An entertaining movie, but not as good as the book. A very nostalgic movie for those of us who grew up in the 80s.

Solo: A Star Wars Story (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt3778644)

While not nearly as good as it should have been, I enjoyed this movie about Han's origin story. Even though it has some flaws, it's still a very fun movie.

If I saw Mary Poppins as a kid, I don't remember seeing it. I finally watched it, mostly because of the movie Saving Mr. Banks (which I really liked). I definitely enjoyed it and it made me feel like a kid.

I saw Mary Poppins Returns in a theater over Christmas. I was pleasantly surprised by it as I definitely enjoyed it. I do like Emily Blunt and found her performance to be "spot on".

I am glad I decided to watch BOTH of these movies as they are quite enjoyable.

A good movie, but the TV mini-series is better. Anthony Hopkins and Emma Thompson are excellent, but I found Hayley Atwell and Matthew Macfadyen more compelling in the TV mini-series. But I did really enjoy this movie.

Not nearly as good as Ocean's 11, but I enjoyed this movie as it was a fun heist movie. And this cast of women carried this movie big time!

A Netflix original which tells the story of Robert the Bruce of Scotland. Chris Pine does a nice job playing Robert.

Judgment at Nuremberg (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0055031)

This is a very intense older movie about fictional Nazis being tried during the Nuremberg trials. A very good movie with an all-star cast.

Paul Newman, Sally Field, Wilfred Brimley (in a brief, but very memorable scene) directed by Sidney Pollack? Yeah, I am bound to like a movie with those people involved!

Gentleman’s Agreement (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0039416)

Gregory Peck turns in an outstanding performance playing yet another honorable man, this time fighting anti-Semitism.
