I have decided that I am too far behind on reviews, so I am going to write very short reviews for a handful of movies.
Fruitvale Station is an excellent movie written & directed by Ryan Coogler based on the true story of Oscar Grant III (played by Michael B. Jordan, not THE Michael Jordan). Oscar was the victim of a cold-blooded murder at the hands of a San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) officer early on New Year's Day in 2009 who claimed Oscar was resisting arrest after a fight broke out in the Fruitvale BART Station.
This movie does a wonderful job of telling Oscar's story and Jordan's portrayal of this complex & troubled yet happy young man is brilliant. This is a passionate & powerful movie that will stir up emotions in any viewer...8.0/10 stars
