Hitchcock (directed by Sacha Gervasi) is the story about Alfred Hitchcock and the making of his classic horror film Psycho as well as his relationship with his wife & creative collaborator, Alma. Hitch is played by Anthony Hopkins and Alma is played by Helen Mirren. Both deliver solid performances in this movie that I did wind up liking.
Psycho pushed the film-making standards of its time like no other and it was truly ground-breaking. Hitchcock does a good job of portraying Hitch's challenges with respect to making that movie, from securing funding to battling with studio executives & censors all the way to how the film is to be released. While this all is going on, his personal & professional relationship with Alma is also put to the test.
This movie shows this movie-making journey quite well..it is well-made, well-written, and well-acted. I liked this movie...6.5/10 stars
